The Gustav Mahler House will present the work from April to September by the academic painter Gustav Krum (24 May 1924 Jihlava — 21 March 2011 Jihlava).
The exhibition takes place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the painter and honorary citizen of the city of Jihlava. The main idea of the exhibition is to present the work of the academic painter Gustav Krum as an artist who was a master in his field, and whose work is a testament to his love for his hometown and native region.
The exhibition brings a whole new perspective to his work. For the first time ever, the public will be presented with a selection of fifty-four small and larger works that thematically connect Jihlava. Most of the paintings come from the extensive private collection of Gustav Krum's family. Two paintings from a private collection were also acquired for the exhibition, which have never been presented to the public until now. Thus, the visitor will be able to see Jihlava in the Gothic and Renaissance period, Jihlava in the 50s and 60s of the last century, will be able to compare the working sketches with the final image, and will be able to get to the surroundings of the city thanks to poetic drawings with pencils and pencils. The exhibition also includes a catalogue with all the works presented in the exhibition.
