Entrance to the event is for free.
The show of the Mahler project is music! 2 is implemented by the Jihlava Gate with the financial support of the European Union.
The preparatory children's choir Radost, led by Pavel Salák, will make out the park in the early afternoon. Children will not only immerse you in the game with their singing, but you will also have a unique opportunity to experience what it is like to be part of a large musical ensemble.
In the second part of the program, a drumming procession will take place from the newly opened Silver House on Masaryk Square 21 across Benešova Street to Gustav Mahler Park. This will connect two places in Jihlava, where many creative workshops and interactive installations await both small and large enthusiasts of the art world. After the arrival of the drummers in the park, there is something to look forward to. An improvisation workshop with Matoš Hamerník and his pupils from the Jihlava Art School will involve both experienced and beginner drummers.
Various workshops and installations are prepared for all interested parties, where everyone can test their creativity and discover musical worlds. You can look forward to the lecturers of the project Mahler is Music! 2, such as Matěj Kolář and his voice workshop, Ondřej Vítů with his “boxes”, Petr Bradáček with a motion-interactive installation and Hana Dočkalová with the object “Give a bicycle beat”. Local invited guests to the workshops include Predrag Duronjić with his material-creative inventiveness of musical instruments and Lenka Oberreiter, who will play the water bell with you.
Audiovisual artist Michal Cáb will visit Jihlava with his participatory concert.
The sound characteristics of some waste objects will surely surprise you at the workshop of Recy Upca, a circular center from Jaroměř. Special audio game stops will be prepared for the smallest visitors so that they too can enjoy the action to the fullest.
The Tale of Charles and Jaromír from Institute of Astonishment is a traditional Erben's “The Apple Maiden” narrated very unconventionally, with the help of turntables and other junk. It is for children from 4 years old. We play it in a totally interactive and participatory way.
The theme at the end of the event will be the baptism of the sound trail, which will connect Gustav Mahler Park with the online environment and lead you to the Gustav Mahler House. The trail was developed by participants of the regular Malér Studio and the Circle of the Documentary Film Center for several months and will remain online even after the end of the event.
