The Worker's House has a very rich history. It was inaugurated on November 15, 1869 as a sumptuous Neo-Renaissance Hotell Czap on the site of the old inn Na Holubník. The hotel was named after its builder, the movable Jihlava businessman F. G. Czap. It boasted the largest ceremonial hall in the city, hosting many concerts, balls, and theatrical performances. He gave concerts here as a student composer Gustav Mahler. The hotel offers 21 heated rooms with a tiled stove, a large hall and an inn. The hotel gradually changed its name, first to Morawetz, then Jihlavský dvůr, and in 1940 the German Court was established there. After 1945, the building fell to the Communist Party and it created the Jihlava Workers' House. In the 1950s, the House of Education, several offices, a ceremonial hall and a restaurant functioned there. The restaurant served until 1993, when the disastrous condition of the building made it impossible for it to function further. After a successful renovation, the building shines again with novelty and the ceremonial hall again invites dancing and listening.
