Paulan Monastery and Church of Blessed Juliana Collalto

Monastery of the Paulans for monks of the Order of St. Francis of Paula was founded from the foundation of the new owner of the estate, Rombald XIII. Collalta of 1626. He summoned them to assist in the recatholization from Italy of 1629. The monastery was built only after his death in 1639 —1644. The inner tract originally with arcades opened to the Garden of Eden; later the arcades were replaced by windows. The builders were probably G. B. Pieroni and G. Petruzzi. After its abolition in 1784 during the reign of Joseph II, the building served the purposes of the castle granary. After 1800, a wing for a cotton manufactory was added to it, but it became defunct in 1818. The monastery building was then gradually adapted to the apartments that are still in it today.

The Paulan Monastery is only accessible from the outside.

The Church of Blessed Juliana was built at the end of the 16th century. Hynek Brtnický of Wallenstein and his consort as the Evangelical Prayer House of St. Matthew with the underground family tomb. In the 17th century, the Collalts rebuilt the church according to the design of the eminent Viennese architect G. B. Pieroni, and the side chapel and tower were attached. Later abolished along with the convent, restored in 1831 and dedicated to Blessed Juliana of the House of Collalto.

The church and tower are accessible during events, worship services and by appointment at the parish office.
