Prestigious townhouse reflecting the wealth of the city during the time of the silver rush of Jihlava
In the historic town house on Masaryk Square 636/21 the sound of anvils and stamps of the medieval royal mint sounded in the 13th century, in the 15th century the house was scented by a local bakery workshop, and even more recently cups of tea from distant lands were filled here. The newly renovated house once again provides the facilities of a tea room and with it the contribution organization of the Gate of Jihlava with the JAM studio, the Documentary Film Center and the information center.
For social events and occasions, a 50-seat concert hall and two smaller historic painted halls are used.
The exhibition in the basement of the house reveals the unique story of the discovery of the Jihlava mint.
The successful restoration of the Silver House thanks to the project of architect Mark Stepan is an opportunity for an interesting and unusual architectural and cultural experience in our country.
