By the Šlapanka river in Polná there is a Jewish cemetery with over a thousand tombstones.
The Jewish cemetery can be found in the picturesque valley of the Šlapanka River about 700 m from the main Hus Square. Over 1300 tombstones are placed on it, the oldest are dated as early as 1680. The cemetery has an irregular shape because it has been expanded many times.
The entrance to the cemetery is decorated with a forged lattice with Six-pointed star made by a Jihlava art blacksmith Erwin Habermann. The cemetery is taken care of Association of Friends for the Protection of Jewish Monuments in Polná.
