Johann Haupt was one of the founders of the Jihlava Museum and also a passionate photographer. In 1890, he restored the tradition of the Haver Procession — a festivity where the main event is a march of children dressed in colorful costumes representing the various professions associated with silver ore mining. The parade was always held at the beginning of summer, on June 24 on the feast of St. John the Baptist, even during the First World War. After the end of the war, Mr. Haupt took it for granted as the beginning of the Jihlava summer and thought it would be another reason to celebrate. However, some of the inhabitants of Jihlava did not share the joy of the post-war development, and some did not consider the traditional procession as their own. So Mr Haupt is having trouble getting the parade to go ahead and needs our help.
